WIP - Guild Ball - Sessions 4 thru 9

Sessions 4 thru 5

Sessions 6 thru 9

I decided to change the color of Shark's "sash".  I thought it stole from his masculinity.  I'm going to pass on the 80's-style Adam Ant eye-mask as well...

However, now that I see it on-screen, I'm thinking the aqua sash would tie together better with the fancy-colored armor.

Thoughts, anyone?

  1. Nice work.. I have the Fishermen also on my bench, just Shark left to paint up! Love the pastel colors you are using here on them all!

    1. Thank you, Mr. Lee! I dunno about the pastels -- they might stay pastel or they might change tone, saturation, or even hue (like Shark's sash). They're there just as placeholders for color composition. Pastels are noncommittal enough that I can still change my mind. But, yeah, the colors in general are supposed to suggest the sea, the surf, the sand. And a bunch of driftwood.

So, hey, I went to go check out your blog and see your interpretation of the Fishermen. I couldn't find a post with them. Where can we see some WIPs? Will you post the final pics on your blog, or do I need to find you on CMON or Facebook or P&P?

    1. Thanks, John! I've really enjoyed painting these models. There are some areas that I really should "work", to show a more "finished" paint job, but I'm finding myself satisfied with some areas just as they are, in the rough. That mindset has helped keep me motivated to press on with the next stage and/or the next model. It's been valuable to help me enjoy the time painting the figures, instead of pressuring myself to bring the pieces to an "expected" standard.

      Thanks for the feedback!

  3. You have a hell of fantasy squad there. In my eyes you win!
